PBS Engineers provided Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering Services for a Trojan Battery Company plant in Santa Fe Springs. The Trojan Battery Company (Trojan) currently controls emissions of airborne lead resulting from the facility’s battery manufacturing operations through use of collection systems, including indoor ventilation hoods (capture systems), ducting and filtration (i.e., baghouses, and HEPA filtrations). Emissions from the operations, and facility (as a whole) must comply with limitations contained in South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). As the current air emissions control equipment has reached the end of its service life, Trojan retained Wood to complete a conceptual design analysis to upgrade the lead emission collection operations/systems at the plant.
