PBS provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, and Low Voltage Engineering Services for the new transit and public works operations and maintenance facility, including the transition to zero-emission buses (ZEBs) in alignment with California’s clean energy mandates. PBS has provided electrical design services for over 100 electrical vehicle charging points to support the current and future bus fleet and commercial vehicles to serve the city’s transit system’s needs as well as to comply with Cal Green requirements. The new facility is located on approximately 6.5 acres at a former power generation plant, which was repurposed and rebuilt with resiliency in mind. The project consists of a 20,000-square-foot administration and operations building, a 15,000-square-foot maintenance facility, site improvements for staff/visitor parking, and on site fueling and washing.
