PBS provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection engineering services for the LAX Terminal 4.5 Core project.

As a part of the larger Terminals 4 and 5 Modernization project, the Terminal 4.5 Core allows passengers to access all four terminal levels through stairs, elevators, and escalators for baggage claim, check-ins, and security checkpoints. The core area also includes office spaces for airlines, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and law enforcement agencies.

The Core will connect Terminals 4 and 5 to the West Central Terminal Area station of the future automated people mover (APM) train project, via a walkway.

This project received a LEED Gold Certification in 2023.
