PBS provided Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing engineering services to design the HVAC System for approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of this historic building built in 1930. This included the replacement of an existing Air Handling Unit with a more efficient and designed the completely new ductwork distribution to serve the center of the building. A Variable Refrigerant Flow system was added to serve the perimeter of the building to make the system adequate for today’s demand and compensate for reintroduction of the row of large historic windows that were removed as noted above. Ductwork was also designed to allow for the ceiling to be raised and finished similar to how it was completed in 1931. In addition, new lighting package, with custom light fixtures similar to the fixture from 1930, was designed with LED lighting to reduce heat loads and to add integrity to the space.
