Growing With San Diego: PBS Engineers Named a 2026 Best Place to Work
PBS Engineers is proud to be recognized as a 2026 San Diego Best Place to Work, an honor that reflects more than workplace culture. It represents the people, partnerships, and continued investment that have helped PBS establish a meaningful presence in one of Southern California’s most dynamic regions.
For PBS, growth has always been about more than adding locations or expanding a footprint. It is about being present in the communities we serve, developing strong local teams, creating opportunities for our people, and building relationships that allow us to better understand and respond to the needs of our clients.
Building a Stronger Presence in San Diego
PBS Engineers’ San Diego office is an important part of the firm’s broader regional growth. With a local office in Mission Valley, the San Diego team provides PBS with a direct connection to clients, partners, projects, and communities throughout the region.
That presence also supports a larger story of intentional growth across PBS. Since its founding in 2003, the firm has expanded its capabilities and geographic reach while maintaining its focus on personalized service, technical quality, communication, and responsiveness. Today, PBS’ footprint extends across multiple markets and regions, allowing teams to bring firmwide resources and expertise to projects while maintaining strong connections at the local level.
San Diego is a strong example of what that model looks like in action.
Engineering Alongside a Growing Region
PBS’ connection to San Diego extends beyond where our team works. It can also be seen in the infrastructure helping move the region forward.
For PBS Engineers, San Diego International Airport is one of those places. There’s something special about seeing an airport transform over time, and knowing your team has played a role in that journey.
Over the years, our team has provided MEP and Low Voltage engineering services in support of projects across SAN that are helping transform the airport and elevate the passenger experience. From the Terminal 1 Replacement Program, to the Terminal 2 East Lounge Expansion and enhancements, to the FAA-funded Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP) and other improvements throughout the airport, our engineers have had the opportunity to work alongside the Airport and some incredible industry partners.
And that last part matters. Great airport projects don’t happen because of one firm or one discipline. They happen because teams understand the environment, know how to work together, and bring the right experience to solve challenges while keeping the bigger mission in mind.
As SAN has evolved, PBS has grown alongside it, building institutional knowledge and contributing to systems and improvements that support efficiency, flexibility, accessibility and, ultimately, a better experience for the millions of people traveling to and from San Diego.
That work is representative of a larger commitment. PBS’ regional presence allows our professionals to remain connected to the people and organizations shaping San Diego’s future while bringing the resources and multidisciplinary expertise of our team to the table.
A Workplace Built Around People
Being named a 2026 San Diego Best Place to Work adds another dimension to that story.
Great projects require great people, and sustainable growth requires an environment where those people can build careers, develop as leaders, collaborate across disciplines, and feel connected to the impact of their work.
At PBS, investing in people and investing in the communities we serve are interconnected. Our goal is not simply to grow for the sake of becoming larger. We want to create opportunities for our people to grow alongside the firm while maintaining the culture, relationships, and commitment to service that have defined PBS.
That philosophy is especially important as our regional presence expands. Each office contributes its own expertise and relationships while remaining connected to one PBS team and a shared commitment to Provide WOW Through Service.
Growing Forward, Together
The 2026 San Diego Best Places to Work recognition is an opportunity to celebrate what our San Diego team has built, but it is also a reminder of where we are headed.
We see tremendous opportunity in San Diego. We are proud of the projects and partnerships that have already allowed PBS to contribute to the region, and even more excited about what comes next.
As PBS continues to grow, our focus remains clear: invest in great people, build strong local teams, deepen our relationships, and use engineering to create lasting impact in the communities we call home.
To our San Diego team, clients, partners, and community: thank you for being part of that journey.
We are proud to continue rising with San Diego.
