RESIDENTIAL SOUND INSULATION PROGRAM - San Diego, CA | El Segundo, CA | Inglewood, CA | Ontario, CA MUNICIPAL


This project consisted of noise reduction for homes located around the airports.  This was achieved by the provision of new sound insulating windows and doors as well as the addition of attic insulation as needed.  Each house was equipped with new mechanical HVAC systems and properly sized electrical panels to provide a system for putting fresh air into the house and ensuring that the electrical panel had sufficient capacity for any new mechanical HVAC equipment. PBS performed inspection services and developed design solutions for upgrade and/or replacement of existing mechanical HVAC systems and the electrical system.  PBS Engineers has completed over 2,000 units under these contracts.

San Diego County Regional Airport Quieter Home Program - San Diego, California             
The scope of the project provided engineering design services to sound attenuate residential dwelling units in the Quieter Home Program.  PBS provided Mechanical and Electrical design services to power the mechanical equipment, prepare construction documents, obtain plan check approvals and provide construction administration services.

Airport Residential Sound Mitigation - El Segundo, California and Inglewood, California    
This project consisted of noise reduction for over 800 houses located around Los Angeles International Airport. This was to improve indoor air quality and lighting by providing air conditioning system and increasing the lighting level. The scope was also to add insulation in the wall and roof to reduce the air traffic noise. PBS Engineers performed inspection services related to the program and developed alternatives for upgrade and/or replacement of existing mechanical/ventilation systems and electrical system.

Ontario International Airport Quieter Home Program - Ontario, California         
This project consisted of noise reduction for over 300 homes located around the Ontario International Airport. This was achieved by the provision of new sound insulating windows and doors as well as the addition of attic insulation as needed. With the addition of new windows and doors creating a sound-mitigating seal, each house was equipped with new mechanical HVAC systems and properly sized electrical panels to provide a system for putting fresh air into the house and insuring that the electrical panel had sufficient capacity for any new mechanical HVAC equipment. PBS Engineers performed inspection services related to the program and developed design solutions for upgrade and/or replacement of existing mechanical HVAC systems and the electrical system.
