As part of the Wolcott Design Team, PBS received a 2013 Calibre Award for work on this Studio in the Large Project Category, presented by (IIDA) International Interior Design Association, Southern California Chapter.
This Animation Studio is an adaptive reuse of an 86,000 sf concrete warehouse with a brick facade, that includes two 50 seat screening rooms, two recording studios, two control rooms, multiple DVR screening rooms, sixteen editorial suites, a training lab with a computer access floor, a machine room to house all AV functions, multiple videoconferencing rooms, new gym and a server room housing about twenty racks. The project combines two adjacent properties into a single campus with a joint main entrance, and parking lot. PBS Engineers conducted a complete survey of base building conditions in order to integrate MEP elements for reuse with the new MEP requirements and produced a fully coordinated set of construction documents. Due to specialized functions of the space, significant coordination was required with difference end users and management.
